Afraid to Upgrade WordPress? 2.8.6
“I can’t afford to have my blog go down from a failed upgrade” is a common answer I hear to the question, “Why aren’t you upgrading?”.
It’s very similar to when your car makes a weird noise and you’re sure that something is terribly wrong!
You can certainly drive around town for a few weeks, hoping the noise will just go away on it’s own (that never happens) or you can bring your car into a mechanic to fix the problem. Maybe it’s the fear that the repair costs will be high.
Well, I’ve learned that ignoring a problem can be 10X worse! Several of my friends have not maintained oil levels in their cars and *poof*, they have been faced with a costly engine rebuild of over $1,500.
Don’t wait until your WordPress blog is hacked to upgrade. Keep up with the version releases!

The great news is the WordPress team keeps making it easier and easier to upgrade with each new release. I did a blog post on 14 Reasons people Don’t Upgrade and have included them below.
