Do GoDaddy SSL Certificates Support Subdomains?

As we get ready to roll out our affiliate program here at Freshworkshops, we decided to purchase our SSL certificate at GoDaddy. We went with the Standard version and were able to buy one for $12.99 with a coupon we found via Google vs the going rate of $49.99.

We too wondered if we would need to change our certificate type but at GoDaddy’s site found the following information showing that the GoDaddy Standard SSL certificate supports unlimited subdomains.

SSL Certificates
GoDaddy.com is proud to offer Standard SSL and Premium SSL Certificates. Our Standard SSL Cert is available as a Wildcard SSL Certificate, enabling it to handle unlimited subdomains, as well as a Multiple Domain UCC SSL Certificate. Our Premium SSL Certificates are also known as an Extended Validation SSL Certificate or EV SSL Certificates and are ideal for eCommerce.

In getting things setup and keeping security in mind, we’ve setup iDevaffiliate, the software we’re using to manage our affiliate program, on not only a subdomain but also on a seperate cPanel account so we can more easily track and monitor the traffic. This will make it easier to track for potential fraud which is a big problem in the affiliate space. More on this later!
